2023.05.29 17:22 scarecrow1973 Finale makes real sense when checking out Logan's last scene with the 3 of them
It is the same scene as "you're not serious people," but noticing how Logan tells his kids it would truly be a clean break. So as to retain their family spirit, and to keep everyone together. It is specifically what does not happen in the end. I understand all of the specifics around each character. But as was pretty evident (in weird ways, admittedly) how Logan loved his children, they couldn't handle the prospect of power not being the end goal.
I think this is more what Logan meant by 'serious' in this scenes specific context. They took their eyes off the ball, thinking they needed to do what their Dad did rather than do what was best for their family. They ruined their family in trying to fulfill what they believed to be their legacy. And then that legacy slips through their fingers. The finale made the show much more nuanced, in my opinion.
Figured I'd throw in my opinion amongst the sea of opinions coming in on this subreddit! The rewatch of the season after the finale has proved pretty rewarding for me. And I think seasons 1 and 4 were far better than in between, personally. But I'm not the biggest Succession fan. Been watching since first episode, but never really loved it other than the Chappaquiddick incident- until the finale. Which made me start the Season 4 rewatch in the overnight. Having said all of this, I found Game of Thrones to be quite similar in the rewatch. Much more fun having all of it than waiting week to week. Obviously just my opinion.Very cool stuff. Enjoy the rewatch!

2023.05.29 17:22 luukse Thoughts on why I think it was a somewhat disappointing finale. Let’s discuss:
Maybe somewhere deep down I should’ve known that Succession would not’ve ended with any of them in charge. All 3 are easily corrupted, tained and broken individuals, but from the 3 of them, I did feel Kendall was the only one that understood his father’s business and was being groomed to take over. As Logan once said: “Maybe he’ll be the best of al of ‘em.”
Considering his past drug abuse and the death of the waiter he wouldn’t be a solid, waterproof pick, but considering him in s3 and s4, there was significant enough progress in his character, whereas Roman and Shiv remained themselves, a clown and an egotistical maniac (more on that later).
So, looking at S4 and the finale, I find that it works in some ways, but doesn’t work in more ways. For your consideration, my thoughts below:
Kendall
I’m gutted for Ken. Perhaps the one who understood the business best, and saw where they needed to go to make it future-proof, he was never taken seriously by Logan and in Logan’s treatment of him he became a scapegoat of the family. Sacrified to take the fall in S2 and sacrified again in S4. I am aware of his past and am aware of his attitude in the last episode, him putting his shoes on the table (minor detail, but also, maybe, in the moment, earned?) and him cockily moving forward at the vote. Also, in that moment, justified because he had it, and he had no meaning for procedures etcetera. So, for me, too small a details for Shiv to have a change of heart in that moment. Considering his backstory, the way water always has an omnious presence around Kendall, the final show and his now fragile being, I can not see his story go anywhere else but a spiral into drugs and eventually suicide or death by accident. I don’t see it where there will be catharsis with his siblings, he will take his billion dollars, and begins something new. We’ve never seen that Kendall, and I doubt we will. So, Kendall concerned, a tragic end to a tragic persona.
Roman
I can’t help but extremely dislike Roman in the finale. We all knew Roman was a clown, and could never have been in the running for CEO. But after his breakdown at the funeral, where basically his entire persona cracks and crumbles, I find it difficult to believe he would still, cringeworthy and forcefully, stick with him being Logan’s successor. I think Roman was always looking for an out. A way out of under Logan, and he should’ve voted YES on the deal, take his money and be happy. But he chose to go with Shiv. As soon as he heard her doubts, not even arguments, he tried to convince Kendall in letting it happen. He saw a way out, and he may very well have sacrified the life of his brother in doing so.
Shiv Man… What to say here. Shiv has been my least favorite character on the show and I’m pretty upset that she’s the catalyst for the entire ending. She continues to pick sides that don’t win. She left that candidate in season 1 as soon as Gill started stroking her ego. She left Gill as soon as Logan started stroking her ego, even after stating politics were more her thing. She left Logan as soon as her siblings started stroking her ego. Then she betrayed them for Mattson who was stroking her ego, only to then be betrayed by Mattson, so she went into the last direction she could after her poor “Game of Succession”, and decided last minute to betray once more. But at the one hand, she would’ve been head of ATN, with power to change the narrative, be a valuable boardmember, and the company in the family’s hands. But she freaked out, because she isn’t competent to do business on that level. At least, we’ve never really seen it. 4 seasons I have wondered why people chased her for positions. Because she got scared, and because she lost, she played the one hand Kendall did not foresee after their whole bonding thing at their moms house. She betrayed him again, purely out of spite and fear. And she ends up with what? No company under her families control, her husband a expendable CEO who will take the blame for many firings and reorganisations but surely will be replaced in the future, a boardmember with no alliances now that Kendall, Roman, Carl and Frank are most likely gone. Purely out of spite. A digusting move that, for me, solidifies her as the worst person in Succession.
After Shiv’s actions, I don’t see the siblings ever rekindling their love for each other, and even though Shiv might have broken the cycle, and got them out from underneath Logan’s terrible shadow, she might’ve sacrified a brother to do so.
All in all, I felt there had to be some hope, some catharsis, some redemption for the siblings, but there wasn’t any. If anything, their arc’s are almost going backwards. They have made zero progress, not even in growing more towards eachother.
For that reason, I feel the finale, at least as a SERIES ENDING is somewhat disappointing.
I did love Tom’s move up, and Connor’s video of the dinner. He had a better relationship with Logan then the rest of them, and they knew it.

I’ve heard that in some areas it can be hard to homestead due to laws and needing permits for everything… how true is this? I’ve also heard property taxes are really high however my husband is a disabled vet so I understand we would be able to be exempt from property taxes.

I’m not normally a paranoid type of person but I’m really worried and I’m not sure if I’m being reasonable or not. Let me tell you what’s going on.
I live in a working class neighborhood in the states capital. The homes are modest in size and condition (to be polite), there’s no HOA, and there’s no sidewalks. Everyone gets their 1/5th acre plot and wonders if their roof will hold out another season.
About 4 weeks ago we were robbed, it was really my fault. I parked my car in the garage after coming home from work, hit the button to close garage door, and immediately walked inside. I didn’t check to make sure the door closed all the way as we never had a problem with it in the past, but guess what happened…
Our neighbors Ring camera watched the door almost close but then open back up, where it stayed the rest of the afternoon, all evening, and through the next morning when I went out to the garage to leave for work. My work laptop that I kept in the car was in the yard, money was missing from my center console, and the car doors were ajar. Someone clearly went through the car looking for an easy score. Our neighbors ring camera didn’t have enough detail to see anything of worth. I called the police and filed a report.
What was weird about the event was that my expensive mountain bike wasn’t touched, the tool wall of name-brand tools was entirely untouched, and the keys to the car were hanging right next to the door that leads into the house. At first we just thought it was dumb kids just looking for weed money but now we’re noticing a strange and recurring instance outside the home.
Every week when I mow the lawn I find broken sunglasses next to to my mailbox. Every week. I pick them up, take care of the lawn, and sure enough, next week there’s another broken pair. This never happened before we were robbed and as far as I can tell it doesn’t happen to the neighbors.
I’ve heard about people casing a place and putting trash in their yard or tress to mark it so they can return with their friends to rob it and I’m afraid this is what’s happening to me. Whoever robbed me could have easily checked out the garage and even inside of the house to see if it’s worth robbing.
I really don’t know what to do, I can’t file a police report saying my crystal ball sees a robbing in the future. Even if I did, what would the police do, set up a 24/7 guard outside my house? I can get an expensive security camera system but that’s not going to stop them from robbing me.
What do you think about this? Am I being crazy or am I actually at risk here? What would you do in my situation?

I live in a working class neighborhood in the states capital. The homes are modest in size and condition (to be polite), there’s no HOA, and there’s no sidewalks. Everyone gets their 1/5th acre plot and wonders if their roof will hold out another season.
About 4 weeks ago we were robbed, it was really my fault. I parked my car in the garage after coming home from work, hit the button to close garage door, and immediately walked inside. I didn’t check to make sure the door closed all the way as we never had a problem with it in the past, but guess what happened…
Our neighbors Ring camera watched the door almost close but then open back up, where it stayed the rest of the afternoon, all evening, and through the next morning when I went out to the garage to leave for work. My work laptop that I kept in the car was in the yard, money was missing from my center console, and the car doors were ajar. Someone clearly went through the car looking for an easy score. Our neighbors ring camera didn’t have enough detail to see anything of worth. I called the police and filed a report.
What was weird about the event was that my expensive mountain bike wasn’t touched, the tool wall of name-brand tools was entirely untouched, and the keys to the car were hanging right next to the door that leads into the house. At first we just thought it was dumb kids just looking for weed money but now we’re noticing a strange and recurring instance outside the home.
Every week when I mow the lawn I find broken sunglasses next to to my mailbox. Every week. I pick them up, take care of the lawn, and sure enough, next week there’s another broken pair. This never happened before we were robbed and as far as I can tell it doesn’t happen to the neighbors.
I’ve heard about people casing a place and putting trash in their yard or tress to mark it so they can return with their friends to rob it and I’m afraid this is what’s happening to me. Whoever robbed me could have easily checked out the garage and even inside of the house to see if it’s worth robbing.
I really don’t know what to do, I can’t file a police report saying my crystal ball sees a robbing in the future. Even if I did, what would the police do, set up a 24/7 guard outside my house? I can get an expensive security camera system but that’s not going to stop them from robbing me.
What do you think about this? Am I being crazy or am I actually at risk here? What would you do in my situation?

I don’t think there is a reasonable explanation for Butler having a FTR comparable to guys who get fouled on purpose like Giannis, Gobert, and Plumlee. Unfortunately, I could not find a leaderboard for highest FTR in a season but .693 in the 2019-2020 season is the highest I have seen from a wing player. LeBron has only broken over .5 once in his entire 20 year career.

The 5th anniversary has arrived and they already announced a lot of events and we can a bunch of Chrono Crystals.
Is this good? Yes. Are the units really good? Not at all...
DB Legends went from being really a shitty game (Zenkai Meta,18,Ssj2 gohan) to enjoyable game (Legends Festival 2021 with really good units such as Trunks, Tag Character Goku and Vegeta and the first summonable ultra unit Super Gogeta).
What happened to Legends in 2023? 2022 ended really good. From the worst meta (LL Cooler and LL Beast Gohan) to more enjoyable GAMEPLAY with SSj4 Goku and Vegeta, Trunks and Vegeta and SSGSS Gogeta. 2023 started basically with the "Ultra every month campaign."
Are Ultra too broken? I think ultra characters are very fun units to play when they're not toxic like Rose and Kid Buu, but there's another problem that nobody talks about, the Team Building.
2018-2020 Legends vs 2019-2023 Legends Team building is the most important thing before you start a PvP Ranked Match because the most of your Z abilities comes from your characters, then you support them with your Equipments, and then stars boost your characters to another level.
From 2018 to 2020 basically a team was strong when owned all 5 colours. (or at least 4). Now Legends forgot this thing and they only spam Trash Zenkai just for the Zenkai ability. Teams with no Zenkai Bench are pure shit. You cant even play. (I ended 15+ seasons in Godly Rank so im not a new player) but you cant enjoy characters like New Goku and Frieza because their teams lacks of benchs or you cant due to other characters Tag (Kyawei, Jiren and other stuff that are not Saiyans)
Legends should rework the Zenkai Abilities because nowadays team are builded like 3 Main characters and 3 Bench and it's really bad.
The 5th anniversary just started and we're getting another Legends Limited that probably sucks like Goku and Frieza or is gonna die after the Tier Featured boost, then the ultra is gonna end the anniversary destroying the meta.
We need units that are more durable over time. Funny Units like ToP 17 (not Zenkai Benchable ofc), Buu Saga Goku and Vegeta are not playable in meta due to Ultras with at least 2 Zenkai Bench.
What are your thoughts? The last time when Legends listened to us was with the Google Play Review Bombing and I don't think it's a good thing to do...

Of course, that's no reason to frown for the horror film, which has a domestic cume of $103 million and global cume of $ 210 million from a budget of just $20 million.
The one new specialty title of note comes from a filmmaker we don't typically associate with the specialty box office: Steven Spielberg. The Beard's semi-autobiographical family drama Watch ‘The Magician's Elephant opened in four theaters in New York and Los Angeles to $160k, a $40k average. The film expands to 600 theaters the day before Thanksgiving, and it has the potential to break out in a way that none of the other of the season's awards contenders have. Milan is in a decent spot if Juve's penalty goes away entirely. We are on 67 points while Juve and Inter are on 69. We play Verona, while Juve and Inter play Udinese and Torino, respectively.
The only way Milan gets top 4 is if we win against Verona. If EITHER Juve or Inter lose, we are in. If EITHER Juve or Inter draw, it goes to a tiebreaker.
- Milan wins the tiebreaker against Juve on head to head points (6-0).
- Milan loses the tiebreaker against Inter on league goal differential (head to head points are tied at 3-3, head to head goal differential are tied at 0) unless Milan beats Verona by at least 10 points or 9 points AND scores at least 9 + the number of goals Inter scores this week. For example, if Inter draws 1-1, and Milan wins 9-0, then Inter and Milan will be tied at +28 goal differential, but Inter will win the tiebreaker on having 71 season goals vs 70 for Milan. If Inter drew 0-0 in that scenario, so both teams had 70 goals scored, there would be a playoff game (a 6 derby season!).
