‘Detransitioners’ Come Out Against Sex Change Procedures And Gender Ideology

These “detransitioners” argue that the medical professionals who treated them did not sufficiently evaluate them for co-morbidities which may have led to their feelings of gender incongruence. The women, sometimes referred to as “detransitioners,” were given extreme biomedical interventions ranging from hormones and puberty blockers to double mastectomies in adolescence to relieve their gender dysphoria, according to the article. Several blamed the adults in their lives for failing them. So children are deemed to lack the emotional maturity and as such are not allowed to vote, drive, purchase a gun, drop out of school, join our military, gamble, drink, get married, live on their own, buy cigarettes, get a tattoo or make other health care decisions on their own behalf. And if an adult has any sort of sexual relations with a child, regardless of consent, it is (quite rightfully) legally considered to be rape, as the child is not deemed to have the emotional maturity to truly understand what is or is not his/her best interests, nor what he/she really wants or is feeling, and can easily be manipulated – or even confused – into providing consent. And now the dems are even pushing legislation by which minors found guilty of violent crimes won’t serve jail time because they did not yet have the emotional maturity to decide what is right or wrong, and yet somehow they are capable of making a massive and permanent decision to physically reassign their gender??? And yet Biden and the dems want to allow children – even those as young as 4 or 5 – to make what will likely be the biggest decision of their life to determine on their own that they wish to transition genders – WITHOUT THEIR PARENTS’ CONSENT OR EVEN KNOWLEDGE. To even consider allowing them to make such a major life-altering decision on their own – a decision which will be PERMANENT and a decision which will likely have the biggest impact on the rest of their life relative to any other decision they will ever make – is nothing short of child abuse. Growing up, children face all sorts of changes (biologically, hormonally and otherwise), all sorts of confusion and exposure to all sorts of new (and often confusing) things, particularly in this digital age in which we find ourselves, in which access to anything and any sort of information can be found in seconds. And when they begin puberty, such feelings increase exponentially. Questions, confusions and even desires to experiment arise, but by no means are they necessarily permanent and certainly no basis to make such a life-altering decision, regardless as to how “real” they may feel at the time, as they will invariably change again many times before they reach the age of 18. Even SCIENCE proves that children are not yet capable, mature or developed enough to make such a massive and life altering decision. The amygdala is the part of the brain which enables people to make such decision, including risk assessment, and this part of the brain is not developed nor matured until at least the age of 18. So to allow a child to make such a massive life-altering decision – possibly a decision that will have the greatest impact on his/her life – greater than any other decision he/she may ever make – and denying the parents’ involvement in that process – and the requirement of their consent – is nothing short of abuse – abuse of the children – and abuse of the parents’ rights to care for their children. THIS IS HEINOUS AND NOT ACCEPTABLE – to abuse and manipulate children – and literally destroy the futures - JUST so that the dems can get votes. Yet it tells you everything you need to know about the dems. https://dailycaller.com/2022/04/21/detransitioners-transgender-gender-substack/ submitted by matthewkatzeff to u/matthewkatzeff [link] [comments] |

Training
This was my 4th half of the year. In January, I ran the Kaiser Half in San Francisco and finished with a 1:30:24. This race - Revel Rockies - was the last in a series of three, over 2 months: The Get in Gear Half in Twin Cities, MN (1:31:07), and the Brooklyn Half in NYC (1:30:02).
Between all these races, I followed a weekly schedule of one speedwork day and one long run, with lots of easy miles thrown in.
Because I had come pretty close in Brooklyn, and the Revel Rockies course has a net downhill of about 1,700 feet, I thought I’d have an excellent chance of going sub-90, and maybe it’d even feel easy! (it didn’t)
Pre-race
I got to Denver Wednesday that week. This year, I planned my race calendar around cities where I have friends; in this case, Denver is where the designer on my team lives, so she and I worked together for a bit, but we also hit up the kid’s casino (Round1) to play some claw machine games. Obviously, the house always wins, but we did win a bunch of soft toys for ourselves and a children’s hospital nearby, so let’s call it a draw.
While we were working together on Thursday, I was nursing a headache, and it suddenly dawned on me to ask: “Are we at altitude?” (lol). Being a mile up from sea level explained why I was feeling so trashy for the last 48 hours - that, combined with the person in the next door hotel room deciding to smoke throughout the day/night (???)
On Friday, I went for a short 3 mile trail run and was significantly more winded than I should/would have been for the route. Still, I was pretty confident the significant downhill would win out - it’d just feel a bit sucky.
Race
To get to the start line, everyone had to park near Bandimere Speedway and take a bus up the mountain so we could run down it.
With a 6:30am start, the first bus left at 4:30am, which in turn had me waking up at 3am to eat 3 bagels and drink a triple espresso. I went to bed at 8pm and had a pretty decent sleep, all things considered.
In terms of organization, I didn’t really know what to expect, but as I pulled into the parking lot and saw a long line of neatly parked school busses waiting to take runners up, I started to get excited - the whole scene had the vibe of a school trip; one where you’re either up super early or super late to go somewhere fun.
I had originally planned to nap on the way up, but I happened to sit next to a really nice lady and we chatted throughout the ride. I’m not sure I would have been able to fall asleep after all that coffee anyway.
We got to the starting line around 5ish and it was a little chilly, but the organizers had provided everyone with heat blankets, gloves, and arm sleeves, which was super thoughtful, and definitely came in handy. I used the bathroom, warmed up, went to the bathroom again, before lining up at the starting line.
Unlike my last race in Brooklyn, where I had a pretty detailed pace plan, I was going to take the first couple of miles easy (1:30 pace at most), and then run the rest of the race by effort. The course has a couple of rolling hills, but the elevation profile pretty much looks like a right angled triangle, starting at about 8,000ft and dropping to around 6,000ft, so it’s not really that complicated. Having said that, there was some mild elevation gain in the course: 174ft (for reference, Brooklyn had 236ft).
The course actually started with some rolling hills, which helped me stick to my plan of not going out too fast; I took my foot off the gas when going uphill, and let some faster runners pass.
The rest of the race consisted of winding roads downhill, with a couple of smaller hills (the 7min+/mile splits). Running at altitude definitely felt different. I usually race with a heart rate in the 170s-180s, but I was getting winded in the high 160s, and my heart rate never made it above 176, despite me feeling like I was pushing plenty hard. Also, the small hills felt like a lot more work than normal. I’m not sure if it was because I’d been running downhill the rest of the time and my muscles were thrashed, or I didn’t have the cardio capacity because of the altitude, or both.
In any case, the course was gorgeous - you’re surrounded by mountains pretty much the whole race, and they closed one of the road lanes, so you’ve lots of space to run.
This was a smaller (~1,200 people for the half) race, so there wasn’t a lot of passing/being passed going on. A small group of runners took off at the start, and other than a handful of times I was passed/passed someone, I was running by myself.
For the last few miles, the gradient got even steeper, and so I managed to clock some faster miles, and by the time mile 11 came around, I knew that unless something stopped me from putting together two 7:10-7:20 miles, I was going to come in at under 90 minutes. The last 200m though, was actually uphill, but I had enough in the tank to sprint to the finish line and was pleasantly surprised to find out that I’d come in 3rd in my age group.
Post-race
I have to say that this was one of the most well organized races I’ve run. The finisher’s area was right next to a creek and really picturesque. They had lots of great snacks and vendors offering samples. There was also a beer garden (that I didn’t check out). After checking out some of the booths, I took the bus back down to the parking lot and went back to my hotel.
In addition to doing a great job with the logistics, the organizers also put together many small touches that made the event special. For example, immediately after the finish line, you could get your results printed on a nice card. Also, the age group awards were a white embroided band that they attached around your medal ribbon, which I hadn’t seen before and thought it looked really cool :D There were also lots of photo opportunities, including a cool “R E V E L” sculpture-thing that lots of people (myself included) were taking photos in front of.
It definitely felt like they went out of their way to put on a great race!
Overall, I had a great time and would definitely consider running another Revel event.

2023.06.03 18:38 infoeduc8r Coverage outside U.S in case of emergency
Has anyone ever had an emergency medical situation outside the US and what was your experience like with Kaiser? I found
"How to get care internationally" (p. 14) and it leaves me with the impression that they may not cover everything.
I am considering Allianz Travel's
One Trip Emergency Medical as supplemental medical coverage above and beyond what Kaiser offers.
Any thoughts on this option? Has anyone else purchased supplemental insurance?
Thanks!

2023.06.03 14:45 dawilliams1 Kaiser Permanente Equivalent in Dallas
Hi everyone,
I just moved out here to Dallas a few months ago, from California, and I have yet to find a Kaiser Permanente health facility equivalent out here. It is to my understanding that Kaiser doesn’t have a location in Texas and I understand that.
Basically I’m looking for a hospital that’s an all in one like Kaiser, where the primary care physicians, specialists, X-ray, MRI, pharmacy, etc. is all in one plaza, no need to be driving from location to location to get work done.
Any suggestions?

2023.06.03 07:23 IamaBlackKorean Bellarmine names former Super Bowl champ as its new football coach
SAN JOSE – David Diaz-Infante has been hired to replace Jalal Beauchman as the head coach of the storied Bellarmine College Prep football program, the school announced Friday.
Diaz-Infante graduated from Bellarmine in 1982 before going on to play at San Jose State and in the NFL. The former offensive lineman won two Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos in the late 1990s.
“David brings a sense of pride, tradition, and hard work from his playing days at Bellarmine, San Jose State, and the NFL,” Bellarmine athletic director Kevin Saldivar said in a news release. “His love and enthusiasm for Bellarmine football and the life lessons that the game can teach young men is what is most exciting about this new chapter of Bellarmine football. I can’t wait to see David build on the past success of the program while forging his own legacy for many years to come.”
Diaz-Infante, 59, played on the Bells’ first Central Coast Section championship team in 1981.
“I am beyond excited to have been given the opportunity to lead the next chapter of the storied Bellarmine football program,” Diaz-Infante said in a news release. “Being named head coach and following in the footsteps of John Hanna, Walt Arnold, Mike Janda, and Jalal Beauchman is a tremendous honor and I’m excited to add to the history and legacy those coaches have carved.
“Bellarmine and Bellarmine football have a rich tradition and history and I’m thankful to the school administration and athletic director for trusting me to carry that legacy forward.”
The decision to hire Diaz-Infante came after what Bellarmine’s news release called an extensive search.
When he finished playing, Diaz-Infante worked as a broadcaster for ESPN and coached with the Cardinals, Jets and Chargers.
Diaz-Infante is in the Bellarmine and San Jose State athletic halls of fame.
Beauchman stepped down on March 24 after three seasons.
Last fall, the Bells captured CCS Division II and Northern California 3-A regional championships.
Bellarmine lost to Laguna Hills 28-27 in the 3-A state final.
Beauchman, who played receiver for Bellarmine in the mid-2000s, finished with an 18-14 record. That included a 2-3 mark during the pandemic-shortened spring 2021 season.
Diaz-Infante is Bellarmine’s third head football coach since 1984.
Mike Janda, whom Beauchman succeeded, coached the Bells for 36 seasons before announcing his retirement in January 2020.
He guided the San Jose school to a CCS-record 286 victories and captured six section and 14 West Catholic Athletic League championships. His program played in three state finals and won a NorCal title in 2015.
Bellarmine’s coaching change is the second in the WCAL since the end of last season.
Lenny Vandermade, an assistant coach at USC for the past four years, was named St. Ignatius’ new coach on March 1. He replaced John Regalia, who stepped down in January after 12 seasons as head coach.

2023.06.03 01:19 Mountain_Basil_3332 Nurse killed my dad in front of us
(Located in California) My father was in the care of Kaiser Permanente Hospital in September of 2019, when he fell sick with pneumonia. My dad was admitted to intensive care unit as he proceeded to not get any better eventually the doctors advised to place my father in hospice, when my father asked if he will continue to have the oxygen the doctor stated he will continue to be with the oxygen tank, that will not be taken from him. The doctor reassured my dad, myself and other in the room. Later that evening a nurse stormed into the hospital room yelling at myself, my sister and my son asking us who was the family members of the patient, we were shocked at her demeanor where none of us could even talk besides look at each other, the nurse proceeded to state if we knew what hospice care was? The nurse proceeded to state that there are no doctors orders for my dad to continue to have oxygen as she yanked the hoses out of the wall. Leaving my father with no flowing oxygen. The nurse asked another nurse that was in the room to turn off the monitor that monitored his heart rate and the other nurse said no she cannot turn it off and that seem to anger the nurse that was requesting it to be turned off shortly after my dad suffocated and died right before us that same day. The nurse was wrong and the doctor specifically stated that day they would not be Taking away my father’s oxygen as he was to be transferred over to the hospice department. Is this Medical Malpractice or a wrongful death suit?
This is a very brief summary of what my father endured in the care of this hospital.

2023.06.02 22:13 Legitimate-Elk-3839 Recommended gyms near Laguna Hills? Belt squats?
Hey all — just hoping to ask if anyone recommends their gym near the Laguna hills area. It would be great if they had a belt squat machine, but I’m just looking for a place that’s not commercial (no 24 fitnesses, etc).
I used to go to flex fitness but couldn’t handle all the obnoxiousness there.

2023.06.02 21:23 RolandMT32 [US] Unexpected medical bill when we thought insurance covered it
This is for the US (and it occurred in the state of Oregon).
My ex-wife and I (divorced in 2020) had a stillborn child in 2018. Statements from our insurance provider (Kaiser Permanente) made it look like her hospital stay was all covered. A few years later, my ex got a $73,000 medical bill in the mail from Kaiser for her hospital stay - Supposedly it's because Kaiser had transferred her from the maternity ward (at one Kaiser hospital) to the emergency ward at a different Keiser hospital and the emergency services weren't covered. However, they never told us that wouldn't be covered. I feel it's right that I help with the bill, and I've been giving my ex money for half the monthly bill - But $73,000 is quite a bit, and we feel like it's not right that they sent that bill when we thought it was covered (as a child delivery).
Could it have been a mistake? Is there a legal way to go about fighting the bill? She has been talking to a lawyer already but it sounds like not much progress has been made so far.
It's amazing to me that medical costs in the US can end up costing someone so much money, enough to hamper their finances for a long time.

2023.06.02 19:44 Actual_Wallaby_111 Newborn - Health Insurance Options if Longer Stay than Mother
Hello. I'm having my third child and previously my entire family was on the same health care plan so this was not an issue. This time I'm on an individual health plan through my employer (United Healthcare) and my husband and two children are on a marketplace healthcare plan (Kaiser Permanente).
If my newborn needs additional care (e.g., longer stay in the hospital than the mother), then whose healthcare plan does the newborn fall under?
I've been told that it likely is my employer-sponsored healthcare plan (United Healthcare) since I'll have 30 days to qualifty the newborn due to IRS change of life event. Is that correct?
Is there an option to get the newborn on the marketplace healthcare plan (Kaiser Permanente) immediately? I like that plan and care better.
Lastly, is there ever an issue where the healthcare paln will deny coverage if the newborn needs severe care? Like something happens during the birth or the baby is born with a medical condition not detectable while in utero?
