Sūrah Al ‘Imrān [The Family of ‘Imrān] : (3:97)
وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا Pilgrimage to the House is a duty owed to God by all who can afford a way to it. (Al ‘Imrān 3:97) Every kind and act of worship is gratitude to God in return for the bounties He has bestowed upon us; it is a practical response to them on our behalf. It is such a response that it is given only to Allāh and for His sake exclusively. ▪Thus, Hājj, or Pilgrimage to the House of God in Makkah, is an expression of gratitude to God in return for both the bodily health and the property He has bestowed on us. Therefore, the person who intends to perform Hājj says: “I intend to perform Hājj for the sake of God.” Conveying this idea, the Qur’ān says: “wa li’llāhi ‘alan-nās” (a duty upon the people owed to God). The Arabic word “li” (to) in the expression “li’llāhi” (to God) denotes deserving or having a right. The preposition “‘alā” (upon) in the expression of “‘alan-nās” (upon the people) states an obligation. Additionally, the definite article “al” (the) in the word “an-nās” (the people) points to certain people, thus referring to “those who can afford a way to it.” ▪That is, pilgrimage to the Ka’bah is a duty upon the people: who are those people? They are those who have enough security of travel and the amount of provision that will suffice for them during their travel and for their families that they have left behind. If those people are women, they have to be accompanied with their husbands or close members of the family whom they cannot marry legally. Furthermore, the use of “upon” in “upon the people” reminds us of the following point: There is more hardship in the worship of Pilgrimage than performing the daily Prayers and observing the fast. In addition to the hardships of travel, pilgrims spend a large amount of money. Besides, pilgrims leave their work, countries, and families behind them for a time. Thus, by using the preposition “upon,” the Qur’ān refers to all these hardships and indicates the weight or value of Hājj among all other acts of worship. ▪Apart from that, the word “istatā‘a” (afford) denotes fulfilling a duty or piece of work in a perfect way and in sincerity and total obedience. This requires the existence of will-power, capacity, and possibility. For this reason, the word “istatā‘a” is used to refer to power, capacity, and possibility, which it encompasses. The wide comprehension of this word has led scholars of Islamic jurisprudence to infer different meanings and legal conclusions from it, which has brought great good to Muslims.

I love all animals, but I mostly grew up having dogs as pets. That being said, I'm probably going to be adopting a cat in the near future 😂. I love dogs, but I've just always wanted a cat.

Hey. I'm trying to find some good lights that can sync with pc audio (I play a lot of rhythm games) but I'm having a lot of difficulty with amazon. Nothing seems to indicate that the lights I browse do anything but sync with music/audio through a built in mic, but I almost always use headphones. I had one person recommend to me Philips hue, but they are real pricey. Any help would be appreciated if you guys knew a specific product, or even a way to tell if a product does what I'm looking for.

Stock futures inch higher after House passes debt ceiling bill: Live updates
Stock futures rose slightly Thursday after the U.S. House passed a debt ceiling bill in a crucial step to avoid a U.S. default, with the measure now moving it to the Senate.
Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were up 8 points, or 0.2%. S&P 500 futures gained 0.2% along with Nasdaq-100 futures.
The Fiscal Responsibility Act passed by a vote of 314-117 with bipartisan support. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said he hopes “we can move the bill quickly here in the Senate and bring it to the president’s desk as soon as possible.”
Concern over a possible U.S. debt default lingered on Wall Street throughout May — which concluded Wednesday. Last month was also marked by a dramatic rally in artificial intelligence-related stocks.
The Nasdaq Composite ended May with a 5.8% gain as enthusiasm around AI continued to boost related stocks. Chipmaker Nvidia jumped 36% in May, briefly touching a $1 trillion market cap this week. Alphabet, Meta and Amazon all rose at least 10% during the month.
Outside of tech, gains were hard to come by, however. The S&P 500 inched up 0.3% in the month, while the blue-chip Dow fell almost 3.5%, dragged down by Nike, Walt Disney and Chevron.
“We have been impressed by the resilience of this market since the March low, absorbing a relentless onslaught of negative sentiment and headlines,” said Craig Johnson, chief market technician at Piper Sandler.
Beyond the debt ceiling battle, investors are looking ahead to the Federal Reserve’s June 13-14 policy meeting as another possible market catalyst. Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker said Wednesday that he’s leaning toward skipping a rate hike at the upcoming gathering. However, he added that Friday’s payrolls report could change his mind.
A slew of economic data is set for release Thursday, including weekly jobless claims and the purchasing managers’ index.
Nordstrom jumped 4% in premarket trading after its fiscal first-quarter sales beat Wall Street’s expectations. Salesforce shares fell about 6% after the software company bumped up its full-year forecast but reported higher capital expenses than expected.

So I'm in the military and been applying for Skillbridge programs. Basically I can spend the last 180 days of my contract back home doing an internship/apprenticeship at a company. The company doesn't pay me a dime, but I still receive pay from the military (which now includes BAS and BAH; they're basically my food and housing allowance).
There's this one electrical company I have my eye on in particular. It's 20 minutes from where home is for me and I've been wanting to change my career to electrician. A week ago I emailed the POC listed on the Skillbridge site and he did respond; basically said just apply via the link he sent me and send him my most up to date resume (which I already did in the initial email, but whatever). Did both but haven't heard since.
Would it be a bad idea to call him (his official title is VP of military group) I' ve also thought about taking the old school boomer approach of going to the company and talking to them face to face about the opportunity when I go on leave in July.
