As I head back to the Cancun airport here are my sentiments I take away most from the experience:
No where near as dangerous as online made it seem. Stuck to mostly tourist areas but definitely good to have situational awareness when venturing out.
The hospitality of Tulum was like no other. The people are friendly, hospitable, and service is next level experience.
Expensive, expensive, expensive. Probably the most I spent on a trip. But then again we went for the 1st class experience with boutique jungle theme hotel on water, and five star restaurants. You can easily drop $200 dinner for one at a top restaurant. But you can expect the most spectacular show like a Mayan fire performance comparable to a Vegas show. The quality of the food is out of this world. I think I ate the best steak I ever had in my life at Bak.
Vendors, yes annoying. You constantly feel harassed like every other minute on the beach. But do yourself a favor and spend the $10 on a 50 cent bracelet. You will make a 5 year old girl’s day.
Swim with the alligator, snorkel through the bat infested caves of the cenotes even if feeling reminiscent of one of those horror flicks where they discover some terrifying new species deep within lol. Learning the Mayan rituals history despite its gruesomeness was magical to be there.
I hate im too cheap to buy one of those beautiful Mayan style dresses but if any locals have insider tips for an online store I can get cheaper lol help a girl out.
I’m sad for the Mexican people that the only beach area I witnessed the locals enjoying was this rough area with stones and boulders whilst the tourists enjoyed the pretty sandy beaches. Yes the sargassum is bad, doesn’t smell. You can find some areas cleaned daily by the resorts. The water is nice.
I think if I were to visit again I would find an Airbnb, rent a car, eat the street food, and venture out. We were two girls English speaking only so played it safe going into this. So much development going on in Tulum, I can only imagine what it will be like in ten years, better or worse. I definitely appreciate the experience.

hey you lovely redditors! I'm not quite sure if the title is a little misleading, but I'm looking for ways to get a first impression of working as a nurse in the US. I'm a fully trained nurse (in Germany) and am currently working at a surgical ICU and also at a maternity ward. In the long run I want to move abroad, so I'm looking for options. Before I want to move anywhere I want to see (or get an impression) how the medical system works, what are the tasks and responsibilities of a nurse in that country. So know I want to figure out if it is even possible to "test work" or how. I was thinking maybe a 2-3 weeks internship would be the best option to at least get the idea of working there. Anyone has any suggestions on what options would be best or how to approach the whole thing in general? Or anyone here who can hook me up with a contact? (thinking about the west coast, like San Francisco or so!?) Every suggestion is welcome :) Thank you in advance! 💜

I know I do think BWBA wasn’t all too that great, I would’ve been very interested to see Thomas traveling around The United States of America had the show continued but I have many predictions on how that will be executed had Thomas never got the axe to make way for ugh…. All Engines Go.
So it could first start within Season 26, it might could switch around with Thomas working in San Francisco just like in the BWBA movie to working in the Grand Canyon with Beau. He is likely also going to visit New York City, it’s a possible guarantee.
Also of course Sam will get reintroduced into an episode for the first time, but since Thomas doesn’t seem to know him unlike in the Short from 2015, it’ll simply be his first time really getting to know about him besides his brief cameo.
Natalie, that diesel shunteswitcher from the movie, will appear of course.
Dustin is likely but also unlikely to appear that is if the crew productions remembers him but he has an official render on his WR set as rumored so it’s a 50/50 chance that is if get a snow based episode.
Oh and course let’s not forget Vinnie, he would definitely appear no questions asked perhaps as an antagonist and an episode about Vinnie trying to warrant revenge on Thomas after The Great Railway Show Fiasco but of course, near the end of the episode knowing a Thomas episode, gets his well deserved comeuppance by crashing again, then he is told off by his controller (if he/she ever appears; most likely going to be a she due to show’s push of gender diversity during the time) punished and vows to get his revenge on Thomas again someday. Or it could end with an ending similar to Apology Impossible but with Vinnie ‘unwillingly’ apologizing for his actions and with that, all is forgiven, everyone’s happy, the end!
For the episodes, there’s definitely going to be a Fourth of July centered episode with a few callback references to Thomas, James & The Fireworks Display from Season 8. There might could be a Thanksgiving episode where it’s just typically Thomas (or some other character) learning about the value of being thankful for his friends. Typical Thomas episode fashion.
We might, which is likely going to happen, will get a Hollywood movie based episode.
Another big prediction I have which might could either be a special similar to The Royal Engine or just a regular special episode is Thomas meeting The President of The United States. However considering we have very little clue as to what year the show takes place in (it’s presumed the 60’s) I have no idea which President will be introduced.
(Even though it would break a lot of the years continuity but It WOULD’VE been funny as hell to imagine that Thomas has canonically met Donald Trump or Joe Biden, or hell even Barack Obama)
For the new characters, though they won’t be exactly special in character, we could simply get a regular Baldwin 4-6-2 who is likely going be a female character, and a diesel character whose going to be based on the EMD E8 diesels. We may could also get a caboose character (Not the one from AEG) but the caboose could be like an American Toad or something.
Though it’s a likely or not so likely possibility, we could get characters who are based on real life engines such as Daylight 4479, Norfolk 611, and of course 4014 Big Boy since it was restored in 2019, it could be a similar case scenario to how Flying Scotsman was reintroduced during the same year the real life one was restored. It’s very possible for the Big Boy to show up!
I can imagine a lot of recolors of the American based designed characters of the show such as Rosie, Porter, Connor, Philip including nobody characters such as Carlos, Gustavo, & Noor Jehan.

There is a Tariqa in Morocco called tariqa karkariya. I have close friends that are disciples in the tariqa and they say that they see the Divine Light while doing zikr of Allah.
From what I see in the website, its an extension of the Shadhuli Tariqa, they wear the patched cloak (muraq'aa) and the Subha in their necks and they receive sciences with the vision of the Divine Light.

He also ingaugrated a Zawiya in Washington and a lot of people took the oath in Chicago, San Francisco and Washington D.C I think.
Does anyone have concrete information about the tariqa and its foundations?

I'm 38 and looking for some girl friends to hang out or chat with. I'd prefer if you were local to the area so we could meet up for activities, I like being outdoors, walking, hiking, biking, mini golf, rock climbing type things. I also really like shopping, trying new restaurants, or visiting new places/meeting new people. I'm married and have two daughters, ages 6 and 10. I don't drink and my workplace drug tests. I'm having FFS in San Francisco in August which I'm very excited about but it's my first major surgery at the same time, so I'm nervous too. If you've gone through anything like this I'd love to ask you about it. On HRT about 2 years and wishing things moved faster. Pretty closeted irl, everyone knows I'm trans but there's no real support at home or at work, so I'm in a pretty uncomfortable position which is why I'd like to make more friends.
