2023.05.29 17:44 Picaldo Adjusting your game to avoid neck (re)injuries

So I have a couple of herniations in my cervical spine, so any stacking or guillotine pressure puts me out for weeks. I get pain shooting down my shoulder, peck and arm. Been to the doctor who suggested I was young for surgery (didn't specify what type of surgery), so I should keep stretching and being careful not to get hurt again and keep doing what I'm doing. Was very happy to hear him tell me to continue training lol.
Every year I take a total of around 2 months off from training due to my neck. I got stacked last week after almost 1 year straight training without getting hurt. In the middle of a hard roll, especially when there's a tournament, I invert and granby to defend the guard passes, I do it instinctively, and I sometimes get a stiff neck which lasts a few days or hurt my neck bad like now, which lasts weeks or months.
The question is, how do you modify your game to avoid hurting the neck? I've been focusing on spider and lasso guard and attacking omoplatas and triangles a lot, combining it with DLR and SLX vs standing opponent. Triangles are my highest % sub from guard, so if I limit myself to DLR, SLX and butterfly and half guard, I will not be threatening submissions, I would be sweeping mostly.
What do you guys do?

2023.05.29 17:43 Environmental-Cold24 Robbed and my experience

Hi all,
For business and partially pleasure, I was in South Africa.
South Africa has a very bad reputation because of the crime. I was warned, I was extremely careful, but got robbed on the street, daylight, Cape Town. At a place where people told me I would be relatively safe. That is sad.
But there is one thing that people don't tell you before coming here. In my life I have seen so many countries, been to so many places, lived as an expat in many of them. But I really never met more kind people than here in South Africa. People of all skin colours, religions, classes. It doesn't matter. Everyone tried to help. At one point an Uber dropped me of in a wrong nature park. Thought I could walk to another one but proved to be more difficult than expected. Just a random guy with his kids out of nowhere offering me to bring me with his car. There was no need for it, its a small thing, but in Europe where I am from Im so sure that would be exceptional to find.
And that is just one story. People offering their houses to stay at, to show us around, they are also all really interested and happy to share experiences, stories, and so on. After I got robbed all other people tried to help right away. Got me in a taxi that they paid. In the hotel they went out of the way to get the police involved who also tried their best to help.
And yes there are assholes, but also yes life is so shit for many here on the streets and certain areas that staying descent can be a challenge, but still. Im not giving this robber excuses, with the police we did everything to find him, but I also realize I am privileged and many most likely don't have the same experiences as I do. But that doesn't change the fact 99% of the South Africans I met are amazing and Im just so happy I came off unharmed.
In other words. South Africa is getting a lot of shit but the kindness I encountered here is almost of a different world. Im just glad its on this world, and it is in South Africa.
While Im out now because I got no phone, Im not getting my amazing stay here being ruined by this event. On the contrary, the reaction of others showed me how truly amazing South Africa also is.
Best!

2023.05.29 17:43 Ms-Amenda Feeling unlovable as an INFJ

I don’t know why I feel unlovable. I feel like I am empty body walking all day long whatever I do, nothing can fill up that hole in my chest. I long for some connection but I am scared at the same time. I am feeling all the time that I am unable to handle to leave if I am closer to them so that I try not to be closer yet suffering in silence. I might be laughing out loud but sadness inside me never goes away. I am unable to listen my favourite songs anymore because they trigger me emotion which I am unable to name and handle. I am unable to watch romantic movies anymore because they makes me feel sad and question myself why I can not have someone who loves me. Love songs from others trigger me sadness and sometime I am reduced to tears. It is very recently that I became aware of myself. I want to understand myself more and want to have a happy life.

I just received my results for my final semester, and it doesn't meet my expectations. My gpa dropped massively, and obviously, my cgpa also affected. Im graduating, but im still not happy. Im aware that im not a genius, but yea, im really disappointed with myself. Can anyone send me, you know, word of encouragement? My family told me to persue Master but yea, with this result, can I do it? Also, I dont even know if what master program should I take. Plus, I am worrying about the economic state of my country, so I dont know if I can get a job.

2023.05.29 17:43 -beehop- Ending is poetically beautiful and depressing.

The family business seems like one big metaphor for the "American Dream".
Shiv ends her arc as the anti-feministic icon. She doesn't persue other ventures or creates a name for herself. She becomes wife of the man in charge. And due to the nature of their relationship, the frog most likely won't fold under the scorpion anymore.
Roman ends the series the butt of the joke. He promoted a nazi as president for nothing. He's not taken seriously by the upper (crying during the funeral) or the middle/lower class (getting trampled on the street). Gerri also forever has sexual harassment charges against him. All he can do is laugh to himself in the end.
Kendall ends up like Logan but having nothing to show for it. His personality resolved around the family business. But his family is broken and the business is under new management. He sacrificed everything for... jackshit.
Tom (and to some extension Greg) ends as a winner... but not really. It's a false happy ending for Tom because he officially has all the wealth and "power" he could ask for in the expense of his soul. That's the price of achieving the American Dream. He doesn't ride off into the sunset. He stands on top of a city covered of fog.
Conner ended up being the closest thing to a real winner. Willa could leave him but he still has his superpower. Succession is about the family business and Conner "won" by choosing family over business while everyone else chose opposite. Season 4 especially is a testament to that. Conner spends the season putting family over everything and in the final episode we see he was the only one sitting at the adult table making his father laugh. Everyone's fighting for the top chair but he's content in his.
The show has a lot of themes but one of the biggest themes; to me, is that chasing the "American Dream" is bullshit. For everyone. It's not worth selling your soul for. The fight for the top isn't worth it. The top spot isn't worth it. Logan wasn't happy. Tom most likely won't be happy. It's all bullshit.

Talon's new support lore (remade)
Member of the European Arospace Division, Alessio Grandi known as "Magnus" (MG) is an Italian with greek ancestors. Former Engineer and medic of the "Aurora", his space team, he's the only survivor after his all team died (Linked to Sigma's black hole incident) saved by overwatch, suffers from PTSD with flashbacks and nightmares regarding the loss of his team, which he considered to be his family.
Usually cheerful and happy, loved to cook for his team (like any good self-respecting Italian) is now at times also melancholic and depressed. After being saved by overwatch he became a recruit of OW itself, thinking they could help him overcome the loss. Talon manages to influence him into believing that Ow is holding his team members captive, and with the promise of helping him free them, he joins Talon.
[Doesn't have any actual weapon if not for his multifunctional repairing tool based on energy, he uses it to turn it in a saber like weapon, is also equipped with a retractable metal shield to block solar flares for when he was in outer space repairing the spaceship]
(in the comments you can read more about abilities and such)
doesn't have good damage nor many attacks and can't move around easily, he's based all on holding is ground and healing
Havinh no good damage or movement so his health would be slightly higher, base health: 200hp(25 normal health and 175 shield) +100 armor (kind of like bastion) the 100 armor would help him not being squishy and stand his ground, shield is because he has no self-healing abilities in general, and because at low level of health he heals more the allies so is not fair for him to stay out of fight and be low health for too much.
His primary weapon would be his sword, made out of energy, that goes through energetic shield but doesn't damage them (unlike usual melees, so would beless oppressive) 25 dmg, short range

2023.05.29 17:41 MinisterOfSmiles 27 [M4F] New Jersey/Anywhere - Seeking traditional romance with positive, fun-loving partner

Hello everyone, my name is David - (here are some pictures of me) and I'm a 27-year-old computer science graduate from New Jersey. I'm here on reddit in the hopes of finding a like-minded woman who is interested in a great long-term relationship.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring the great outdoors through camping, going to Renaissance fairs and museums, skateboarding, taking walks on the beach, and trying new restaurants. I'm a big fan of gaming, both on my PC and Switch, and listening to Extreme Metal music, especially Black Metal, Death Metal, Brutal Death Metal, and Slam. I'm also slowly learning Japanese, not just for anime, but also for music and to have fun playing games in the original language (I've been going kinda slow but I have a long duolingo streak). Some of my favorite bands include: Cradle of Filth, Belphegor, Gorgoroth, Mayhem, Emperor, Imperial Circus Dead Decadence, Unlucky Morpheus, King Diamond, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Burzum.
In my search for a partner, I'm looking for someone who has a great sense of humor, strong family values, and a positive outlook on life. I prefer women between the ages of 18-24 who are East-Asian, South-East-Asian, or Caucasian, and who are slim, fit, or petite. While education and job aren't crucial to me, I'm not interested in someone who has had a lot of sexual partners. My main priority is finding someone who is interested in a serious relationship and starting a family someday.
If this sounds like you, I'd love to get to know you better. Don't hesitate to send me a message and let's see where things go! I'd love to get a photo as well.

2023.05.29 17:41 luvintheride Geocentrism has never been disproven Scientifically or abrogated by the Catholic Church

My Goal here is to help fellow Catholics realize the the Earth is at the center of God's attention. It is the apple of His eye. The Catholic teaching of Geocentrism has never been disproven scientifically, nor abrogated by the Magisterium. I am seeking your best opposing arguments.
To demonstrate the Doctrinal nature of Geocentrism, I'll point out that Galileo was tried for heresy, which attests that Geocentrism is a matter of Catholic faith. It is not a de Fide Dogma, or required for salvation, but the Magisterium can not teach opposing Doctrine via protection by the Holy Spirit.
P1: Papal Speeches to audiences such as the Pontifical Academy of Sciences are not Doctrine. P2: Galileo was tried for teaching heresy, that the Earth moves around the Sun. P3: A trial for heresy indicates a matter of Doctrine.
Most people mis-understand what Geocentrism is, so please read the following to make sure you understand Geocentrism first:

Notes :

Repeatable Empirical Experiments that attest to Geocentrism

1871 experiment with slanted telescopes - G. B. Airy (1802-1892) - Royal Society of London v20 p 35 "Airy's failure to detect any movement of the Earth - it was the aether that was moving"
1887 Michaelson Morely "On the relative motion of the Earth and the Luminferous Aether" - American Journal of Science 3rd series v 34 Art XXXVI pp333-345 ( Shows no Earth movement )
1913 Sagac M proves Aether : "Sur la preuve de la realite de l'ether lumineuax par l'experience de l'interpherograph tournant" - On the proof of the luminiferous aether using the experiment of a turning interferometer" Comptes Rendus v157 p708-710 and 1410-1413. = Proof of aether

Currently, NWBO's Sawston plant is the only visible global hub for DC VAX L manufacturing and distribution (MHRA MIA approval 3/20/23) . For $400 , FED EX (https://www.fedex.com/en-us/custom-critical.html) ships anywhere globally within the required timeframes.A SAGE (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/20363613231179541) 5/26/23 scientific publication demonstrates intent by Pakistani neurosurgeons to treat and cure their GBM patients. Looks like the DC VAX L JAMA paper and LIAU- Bosch presentations since 10/26/22 have created global awareness that DCVAX L will be is a major global cell based biotech therapy, addressing GBM , and all solid tumors( https://conferences.asco.org/am/industry-expert-theater).
With 50% of LIAU-SPORE-UCLA combo patents living 10 years, DC VAX L has turned SOC's GBM treatment from a terminal (16.5) months disease into a chronic treatable malignancy .

Post# 593185 of 593185 I am definitely not a biotech expert and what I've learned about Northwest and DCVax-l was shared with me by one of the legends in the biotech world !!! My biggest takeaway is this:
From 2018 forward, it became apparent that DCVax-L was a breakthrough, technological process for the treatment of nGBM and rGBM, but its true potential was only known by a "handful" of experts, and as such, the understanding of the broader market implications was a relative unknown. Early on, several of the comments that I heard from BP were," The GBM market is really not that big!" and " Personalized, Immunotherapy vaccines are not really in our 'Wheelhouse'. We sell compounds/pills!!" On and on! The comments didn't mean that BP wasn't paying attention! Quite the contrary, BP was watching like a hawk as results from Dr. Liau and the UCLA trials began to leak into the medical community suggesting a broader application of DCVax-L on a "stand alone" basis and in combination with CI's for all large tumor cancers ( mentioned in the latest 10Q for future trials), thus dramatically expanding market potentials!!! But the "Big Moment" occurred in late October of last year when the STADIUM LIGHTS turned on, shining bright lights on the latest nGBM/rGBM ,Dr. Liau trial data suggesting 50%to 65% OS for 8 years with emphasis on rGBM !!! That was the point in time when BP and the entire biotech world realized that GBM/rGBM would be treated and managed as a CHRONIC DISEASE!!! with unlimited PROMISE and HOPE for patients and unlimited marketing potential to finance existing vaccine production and the continuing development for improved treatments for all diseases!!!!!
So that's what I learned and that's my story and I'm stickin to it!!!!
Cheers especially to all the Mom's and to everyone !!!

The light switch just turned on for me !!! I'm not a doctor or scientist or a STEM concentration "rock star", but if I read something over and over again several times and look carefully at the pictures SOMETIMES, NOT ALL THE TIME, a major mental breakthrough occurs and I believe that I've discovered something very profound!!
In this case, I believe the main message from the slide deck is that DCVax-L, either by itself or in combination with CI's has turned the whole thing around for treating nGBM/rGBM from having to kill the tumor to a "management process" !! It looks like now with this new information, that GBM patients can receive vaccinations as needed with "Zero" side effects and live a long and happy life !!! A comment from a medical expert that DOES KNOW !!!:
Dr. Greg Zivic:
This treatment can turn a Glioblastoma into a chronic treatable disease even after recurrence of the tumor.
So help me out here. Does the above reasoning seem logical based on the slides all of us have just reviewed?? If it does or is, then little Team Northwest has just changed the healthcare landscape forever in the way that we treat disease!!!!!
Am I way off base or are all of onto to something that is fabulous beyond belief???

Bright Boy Re: thermopost# 591947 Tuesday, May 09, 2023 8:41:30 PM Post# of 596749 Go The UK is determined to be the world carrousel for use of immunotherapy vaccines to treat cancers and all forms of disease!!! From my friends in the UK, my use of the word "determined" grossly understates the effort behind the "Grand Plan"!!
So far, the MHRA has not only accepted and approved the MIA application (manufacturing license), but voluntarily offered the expansion to a GLOBAL MANUFACTURING" license allowing for the import of live cells and the export of vaccines to the far corners of the earth!!! People!!! That is huge!!!!! BUT as always 99.99% of the retail investors don't understand the significance of that license or anything else about the process and look to the screen to validate the importance/value of the license, where they are greeted by Citadel and Virtu and the rest of the gang that manipulate the price to new lows, confirming that, in spite of everything they just read from the greatest medical minds in the universe, is a bunch of crap!!!!
Fortunately for the cancer patients and shareholders of Northwest, the MHRA does not include in their decision making process the current SP of NWBO or the opinion of the "gutter filth" that manage those companies or any other companies that participate in the ordered destruction of small biotechs that are engaged in the development of immunotherapy vaccines!! So, it's on to the filing of the MAA (marketing license), the approval and the decisions that will guarantee swift treatment deliveries to patients!!
So Griffin and Cifu and Fuerstein and the rest can lie all they want , but the GREAT UNITED KINGDOM will not be denied the ultimate crown of being the WORLD CENTER for CANCER TREATMENT !!!!!
Cheers,

Bright Boy Re: hoffmann6383post# 578889 Tuesday, March 21, 2023 1:55:12 PM Post# of 596749 Go People, People, People!!! It's your friendly "hillbilly" here with some more great news!! Don't know if I can "one up" my earlier post about the "Dog eating the license", but I'll try. So here we go!!
I don't think everyone realizes how dynamic and important the manufacturing license really is so I'll take a shot at giving you my take on it. First of all, the marketing approval (MAA) and the government subsidy approval(NICE) are pretty much in the bag before the manufacturing team gets the "green light" to proceed. The MAA and NICE teams talk to the MIA team and say," This stuff looks really cool and we wanted to let you know before you run off and do a lot of work on something that we won't approve when you're finished!!" Okay! So that's the first part.
Now for the second part and this is the part that involves a lot of money so read very carefully!!! The MIA license allows for global export of the vaccines and global import of immune cells/tumor resected material. Anyone in the entire world that is diagnosed with GBM can NOW ship their tumor samples to Northwest/Advent/Sawston to have their personal vaccine made and stored, all to be shipped back to the patient/doctor on a prescribed injection schedule. The beauty of this process is that patients everywhere can NOW receive their vaccine on a compassionate care basis. No more waiting!! No more opportunities for the "dark forces" to delay or deny suffering cancer patients their desperately needed treatments !!!
People, as of yesterday, Northwest is now IN BUSINESS !!!! AND that opens the door for institutional investors and an uplist to the New York or Nasdaq exchanges!!!!
All of the above is as good as that first sip of ice cold buttermilk on a hot summer day!!!! AND for those unfortunate shorts and haters it adds a whole new description to the letters FTD and I'll let you guess what that might be!!!
Cheers,
BB

Abstract Objective: To define the landscape of treatment patterns and current epidemiological data regarding gliomas in Pakistan.
Methods: As part of the Pakistan Brain Tumour Epidemiology Study (PBTES), data were collected from 32 neurosurgical centres across the country. Our retrospective study looked at patients who underwent surgical procedures for gliomas in 2019 in neurosurgical centres. The data was collated and analysed using STATA version 15.
Results: A total of 781 patients with gliomas were identified 479(61.8%) in public sector hospitals, 302(39.1%) in the private sector). The most common histopathological subtypes were glioblastoma 262 (33.5%), followed by astrocytoma 147(18.8%) and oligodendroglioma 93(11.9%). Gender distribution was skewed towards men 508(65%). Private institution hospitals performed surgical biopsies as the first surgical procedure 75(23%) more often than public hospitals 38(9%). Chemotherapy was given to 115(29.8%) patients, and there was no data regarding 467(53%) of patients. Similarly, only 202(43.9%) patients received radiation therapy, and there was no data for 469(60%) of patients. For high-grade gliomas specifically, only 95(31.8%) patients with HGG have a record of receiving radiation therapy, and only 57(18.9%) had a record of being started on chemotherapy.

There has been no cure for Glioblastoma so far.3 Treatment options often include surgical removal of the tumor followed by concomitant radiation and adjuvant temozolomide TMZ chemotherapy which has been the standard of care for glioblastoma since decades, but exposure to high doses of ionizing radiation is a well-known exogenous risk factor for glioblastoma. The inability to cross the BBB is the major obstacle in achieving remission after surgical resection followed by chemotherapy and radiation.4 As a result, glioblastoma typically recurs within six to 8 months and the survival rate is generally less than 5%.2 Despite the development of novel, complex, multidisciplinary, and targeted therapies the outcome for patients remains almost universally lethal.5 Therefore, the need for effective treatment is undeniable. For this reason, it has been a priority area in cancer research. Recently, US biotech company Northwest Biotherapeutics has developed a brain cancer vaccine, called DCVax, which is designed to help patients' immune system to target their tumors that may prolong their life by months or, in some cases, years.5 Thus, opening a door for the development of innovative therapy for targeting glioblastoma. The vaccine is created for each patient individually by isolating dendritic cells, from their blood which is then primed with biomarkers from a sample of the patient’s tumor.6 Dendritic cells present tumor antigens to the immune system, prime T cells, and mobilize antitumor responses.6 To evaluate the safety of the vaccine and its impact on survival time in patients with Glioblastoma, a phase 3 randomized control trial was conducted.7 In this trial, 348 patients newly diagnosed with Glioblastoma were tested at King’s College Hospital and other centers around the world for 8 years.7 Patients had surgery to remove their tumors as much as possible, followed by radiation and chemotherapy as the standard treatment for Glioblastoma.7 Among these patients, two out of three were treated with the vaccine, DCVax-L, with the remaining one-third receiving a placebo.7 The astonishing result of the trial has shown that newly diagnosed patients who received the vaccine survived for 19.3 months compared to 16.5 months for those who received a placebo.8 Overall 13% of all trial participants treated with DCVax lived more than 5 years after diagnosis compared with 5.7% in the comparison group who did so.8 Moreover, this is the first time in 17 years that such a significant result has been achieved in a Phase 3 trial of a systemic treatment for newly diagnosed Glioblastoma, and it’s the first treatment in 27 years for patients with GBM recurrence.9 Thus, this development represents a major step forward in our efforts to combat this devastating disease. Based on the findings of the trials evaluating the drug’s efficacy, it has the potential to improve the quality of life for patients, especially for the elderly and those unable to have surgery. A global clinical trial has concluded that the DCVax is the world’s first vaccine to treat deadly cancerous brain tumors that could help patients to live for years.9 This breakthrough could benefit 2500 people a year in the UK being diagnosed with Glioblastoma.9 It has also been shown that this therapy can be used to treat cancers other than Glioblastoma.9 However, due to high recurrence rate and lethal outcomes, the treatment of gliblastoma has seen significant transformation, switching from an aggressive surgical strategy to a more cautious one. The endorsement of the vaccine is a commendable achievement, and it demonstrates the unwavering commitment of researchers and healthcare professionals to discovering effective treatments for such lethal disease. Furthermore, vaccine may enhance the quality of life of a patient and provides a new hope for patients and their families Thus, it is crucial that we continue to support research into Glioblastoma and the development of novel treatments so that we can envision a future where this disease is eradicated. 2023.05.29 17:40 _Cyclops What’s the process of switching locals? And is it easier as an apprentice or a JW?

I’ve heard a lot of conflicting things from the guys in my local. Some say its easier to do as an apprentice but others say the opposite. Some say it can be very difficult to get the hall to sign off on it, others say they know a bunch of guys that have transferred no problem.
I don’t really want to talk to the hall about it because I’m still an apprentice and I know they’re not happy about training guys just to have them leave the local. I honesty love the local I am in and I would love to stay in it permanently if it wasn’t for the fact that my wife and I really want to be closer to family.
I’m about to be a second year, within the next few years I’d like to move from my current home in the midwest out to CO Springs or Denver. I’m not sure if it would be wise to transfer as say a 5th year or if it would be better to top out first and then go. Any info is greatly appreciated.

2023.05.29 17:40 sailorpuffi Bubbles!

Bubbles!
I did this by myself for the little mermaid premiere this past weekend. It took 3 nights, lol. But i only used two packs of hair! the xpressions 3x springy afro twists. It was fun. Started with 4 parts in the back... definitely doing this with less parts lol the hair is so big but its so light weight on my head. Crocheted in, i plaited the hair then three strand twisted for easier take down later. and im so happy i did this. The frizzier it gets the better it looks. Plan on keeping for a couple weeks for my move, I love this style. 🥰 maybe gonna do blonde for the barbie movie coming out as well♡

2023.05.29 17:40 Vandius Why Portable Ops Will Never Be Canon To Me

Solid Snake wouldn't see Grey Fox as a friend at that age but a father figure as Solid Snake would've been looking for a father figure at the age he met Grey Fox (if PO was canon).
This has happened twice, Kojima wanted to work on another projects after he made MG so Konami made Snake's Revenge. If PO is canon to you why isn't Snake's Revenge? Again made under the same circumstances. Konami doesn't care about story quality like Kojima does, Konami is happy to churn out crap while Kojima has standards.
For all we know the writer for PO (Gakuto Mikumo) may have ruined Kojima's idea for the narrative flow of MGS4 and one writer can easily uproot all the work you've built if you've been working on a project for 2 decades (like MG was when MGSPO came out). I can give examples: Star Wars, Terminator (in James Cameron interview "he disliked the idea of working from somebody else's script in a story he originated"), there are other examples but not many writers let other people work on their project.
At the time PO was being made Konami and Kojima were in a dispute as Kojima wanted to make different games and Konami just wanted him to make more MG games. Then Kojima comes back and makes MGS4 and is told he has to include PO into MGS4.
PO has some of the worst writing around, feeling nothing like Kojima's flow or rhythm that his games have. The writing in MGS3 compared to PO is like a middle school student trying to write their first story after learning that you need to make a story with a "beginning, middle and end", it's that bad.
I have many other reasons but I feel those are some of the biggest flaws PO has.
Portable Ops isn't a "bad game", actually it's quite fun but as it sits it can never be apart of the MG/MGS saga to me as it doesn't feel like a Kojima game, it doesn't feel like MG (in writing).
If there's a reason you think it should be canon I'm all ears but as it sits PO doesn't feel like a "Kojima Game".

2023.05.29 17:39 DryBreakfast555 Is it okay to leave?

I know this is a reconciliation sub, so maybe mods will delete this. I just don't want to post this somewhere else because I don't want to just get flooded with "he's a lying, cheating jerk. Leave him." I want to actually hear from people who want to stay.
We've been trying to reconcile. DDay was a couple of months ago. But the longer this goes on, I'm just in more and more pain all of the time. He's doing basically everything right. I do love him. I don't want to hurt him. I would rather be strong though to stay. The kids won't forgive me for leaving until they're adults, if they forgive me at all. I didn't forgive my mom for a long time for leaving my dad.
But this is months now of almost constant pain for me. There's good moments, sure, but they aren't thaaat good. Not with him. And I'm exhausted. Will the pain and exhaustion slow down if I leave? If this is as much pain as he was in before the affairs started, I guess it's no wonder he ended up looking for some type of escape.
He said his behavior was his own fault, all his own problem, and that he should have talked to me before going outside of the marriage. But he also said that he already felt our relationship was dead and decayed for a long time. This was news to me. Obviously, we had problems. I knew that, but I wouldn't have described us as anywhere near a dead relationship. So, if the relationship was dead before the affairs, and I feel dead now, what are we fighting for? Are we just not really good for each other? Maybe I just can't make him happy, and if he needs to go outside the marriage, he's making me miserable.
I feel like I'm looking for permission from someone who knows reconciliation is possible for me to leave. But I also feel like I'm looking for someone to tell me that I'm walking through hell, and I will eventually come out the other side. That it's worth it to have months and months of pain. That it'll be worth it to experience pain with the person I love for the rest of my life.
Mostly, I'm just so confused. I'm in a lot of pain. He's been in a lot of pain for years, it seems. Maybe that's a sign that this wasn't the relationship of our lives after all, and we should take that seriously.

2023.05.29 17:39 ZealousidealLaw3169 Passive aggressive projection after refusing to talk about emotions

So my pwBPD and I have been together for around 3 years, engaged for 1 but recently we've been fighting and arguing with eachother a lot more which she will quickly blame me for. I will always admit when I'm wrong but every single problem in the relationship seems to be my problem. I have ADHD which can make it really difficult to get motivated and get things done if I'm not medicated (it's pretty bad and it makes me horribly depressed too when I'm not on meds) and I wasn't helping as much with housework. Not using the ADHD as a crutch here, a high work load on top of being unmedicated was really stressing me out and I was forgetting to do a lot of basic things. It was really humiliating and embarrassing for me when I struggle with my symptoms. Shes talked to me about this and I've explained I don't mean to do it it's totally not intentional but I accepted that I'd hurt her and tried to do better. Naturally I apologised for hurting her and would try to do better next time. Every time I would do what I could to help her and meet her needs, she would spend so much time focusing on what hadn't been done that day, or things I'd forgotten about. It was subtle criticism that turned into full scale micromanagement. I don't like the way you're hanging clothes up, stop doing it this way, stop doing it that way. Time and time again, she kept saying "If you loved me, you would change for me!"
Nothing I could do would ever make her happy.
Everytime we have a fight, I notice my pwBPD splits very heavily on me and will act very hostile and passive aggressive towards me. Shell say something incredibly hurtful which I'll tell her that's not really nice. Shell just turn round and say "It's only a joke! you're sooooo easily offended!" Spinning it round on me as if I'm the one in the wrong.
She hasn't spoken to me for a few days as I wanted to address issues with intimacy and why she's feeling this way but she just bottles it up. We'd only start talking again if I apologise to her.
I just need out of this, I can't do this.

2023.05.29 17:39 Riverlily102 Comphet signs?

Hello, I just sat down reading the masterdoc and learning about comphet and I got some questions for those of you who have experienced it, if it sounds like I am lesbian.
So I feel like I can relate to some points in the lesbian masterdoc:
  1. Having many celebrity crushes- I was home from school a lot because of mental issues, so I spent alot of time watching TV/movies instead of being around real guys.
  2. I have commitment issues and dread marriage. But that can also be because my parents have a terrible marriage (I grew up with alot of arguments and no love between them)
  3. Going through memories trying to prove my attraction to men
  4. When I was a teenager I was terrified to get a bf. (I had an eating disorder and social anxiety and didn’t feel like I was good enough or that a relationship could work in that state, so I felt very uncomfiable being flirted with. But I liked guys from a far.)
  5. I never really thought about guys sexually until I got 19? I mostly fantasized about lesbian porn from age 16, because I had already tried that a kid so I knew it felt good being touched and stuff so I could more relate to that I guess? And straight porn looked terrifying because of how the woman was treated. Although I liked heterosexual written erotica.
  6. I got anxiety thinking about sex with men being touched by men before age 19. But I don’t know if it was because of being touched by my dad occationally sexually.. (started as a kid) On the otherhand I fantasized about kissing, making out and doing stuff with men/ waking up with them and get married which made me feel excited, happy and gave me a yearning feeling for guys.
  7. I rarely have crushes on real guys. But it happens.
  8. I have been turned on by men either during sex or porn or sexting.
  9. I don’t think I have had a crush on a woman. Maybe at age 8? I am not sure. But other than that never.
  10. I thought for a period I was a heteroromantic homosexual. But then I started to get horny for some guys.
  11. I had genuine romantic feelings for guys.
  12. I don’t really see the appeal for women at university, work or when I am out. It is rare that I find a woman even attractive. I maybe find 5/1000 sexually attractive . Same seeing most women in bikinis/lingeri am I supposed to feel something? -Another fact I don’t know if my lesbian porn fantasies is because of early expose to it. I had some female friends who did sexually stuff to me at age 5 and it kept going for some years. It felt nice when my clit got stimulated but I wasn’t attracted to her and didn’t want to kiss her. If you have questions ask away.
